Review by hotel critic
During my stay at Maximilian Hotel & Apartments in Weil Am Rhein / Basel, I found the balance between luxury and value to be quite intriguing. The location is unbeatable for those looking to explore Basel without breaking the bank on expensive Swiss accommodations. With the French and Swiss borders just a short walk away, and a tram stop conveniently situated outside the hotel, getting around the area was a breeze. The room itself was spacious and well-equipped, boasting a huge TV and supremely comfortable beds. The addition of a kitchenette was a nice touch, although we did have to request some essential kitchenware upon arrival. The in-house shopping mall, complete with a supermarket, made late-night snacks a convenient affair. One of the standout features was the almost-rooftop terrace on the 6th floor, offering stunning sunset views over the Rhine. While the accommodations were comfortable, the lack of air conditioning during hot weather somewhat detracted from the overall experience. However, the reflective foil on the windows helped to keep the room cool to some extent. In conclusion, Maximilian Hotel & Apartments offers a good value for those seeking a well-located and comfortable stay near Basel. With helpful receptionists, a satisfying breakfast, and convenient amenities, it's a practical choice for travelers looking to explore the area without splurging on luxury accommodations.
